Testosterone: The Love, Sex, and Muscle Hormone for Women
Testosterone replacement for women is finding broader acceptance as a useful therapy when natural levels of this hormone decline and bring symptoms once synonymous with aging.
Wait, testosterone for women? Many women don’t consider the role testosterone plays in their overall health. They think testosterone is a male hormone and estrogen is a female hormone. Although it’s true that men have much more testosterone than women and women have much more estrogen than men, both hormones can be found in both sexes. Surprisingly, most women (as well as average doctors) do not realize that on average, a young healthy woman has more testosterone, molecule per molecule, than she does estrogen. And when women have too little testosterone, it can cause a myriad of symptoms.
